DJI is adding another option to the drone market

DJI has announced a new entry-level drone called the Mini SE. This new aircraft features a 1/2.3 CMOS sensor camera capable of capturing 2.7K video and 12MP still photos. It has 30 minutes of flight time and can transmit HD video from up to 2.5 miles (4 km) away.

The new aircraft weighs 249g, which is the same as the Mini 2. It's just a slightly slimmed-down version of the Mini 2 in many ways. But it can't shoot UHD and it doesn't have the Ocusync controller.

Key features include:

3-axis gimbal camera. 2.7K resolution for video and 12 MP for stills. Vision sensor + GPS stabilization. Up to 30 minutes of flight time. Includes phone-compatible controller. Up to 2.5 miles of HD video transmission. Design Foldable and lightweight. Supports microSD cards up to 256 GB. QuickShot and CineSmooth video modes. Equipped with a 360-degree protective case.

And the Mini SE looks almost identical to the original Mavic Mini. They both use the same camera and video transmission system, as well as the same flight times.

The biggest difference between the Mini SE and the Mavic Mini is that the Mini SE uses the same body as the Mini 2. This means that it is a bit lighter and better in strong winds.

DJI Mini SE adds another option to the drone market

The standard weight of the aircraft (including battery, propellers and microSD card) is 242g, which means that registration is not required in some countries and regions. However, you should always check local rules and regulations before use.

The Mini SE does not support Obstacle Sensing. As a result, the company recommends the entry-level Mini SE with a 360 Propeller Guard to fully protect the propellers and improve flight safety.

The Mini SE can shoot at the following resolutions and frame rates:

2.7K: 2720 x 1530 pixels at 24, 25, or 30 frames per second. FHD: 1920 x 1080 pixels at 24, 25, 30, 48, 50, or 60 frames per second. Maximum: Bitrate 40 Mbps .

The aircraft uses a newer chassis than the Mini 2 with fewer exposed screws, stronger arms and increased resistance to wind speed. It uses lighter, more powerful batteries, fans, and a charging hub with a USB-C charging port instead of micro-USB.

On top of that, the Mini SE, like most DJI drones, comes with a variety of QuickShots modes. that guides the aircraft along pre-determined paths so you don't have to control it manually. These modes include: Dronie, Rocket, and Helix.

In addition, the new plane sells for $299, making it $150 less than the Mini 2.
